These paleo banana nut muffins are so decadent and delicious that the kids from my block devoured them all under 10 minutes! Last weekend was our neighborhood block party so I figured I’d make a batch of these to share. None of the adults had a minute to taste these since the kids ate them so quickly!
I love being able to give kids treats they love that are not full of preservatives and unnecessary ingredients. The most satisfying part is when they love them too!
These muffins are made with almond and coconut flour, have ZERO added sugar, and protein rich nut butter. Did you know that kids under 18 should eat LESS than SIX TSP of added sugar per day? That’s about 25g. The average strawberry yogurt has about 26g of sugar and that’s not even considered a treat!
Depending on your dietary needs feel free to change the nut butter. Sunflower butter works great for those with nut allergies. If you’re following a paleo diet you can use almond butter. Otherwise peanut butter is always a winner.
These are not only a great everyday treat but are also wonderful for a special occasion like a birthday. Top them with a paleo coconut butter glaze or some paleo frosting to make them extra special.
You can also turn these into mini muffins for a quick snack. If you want some extra nutrients you can add in some chopped nuts or collagen powder.
