Did you say paleo orange sherbet? This nice cream brings me back to my childhood. Whether you’re spending the holiday weekend with good friends or family these ice cold treats will bring back your childhood memories!
As a kid, I loved anything sherbet, particularly the Flinstones push-ups. There was something about the texture, the refreshing orange flavor and mechanism of the push-ups that made them such a fun treat.
I’ve been craving that flavor. It might be because I just spent 3 weeks with family and it’s summer but either way I had to create a paleo version.
These won’t disappoint you! They’re made with full fat coconut milk, frozen bananas, fresh squeezed orange juice, vanilla, dates, and a touch of lemon juice! This means no artificial flavors, no added sugar and dairy-free. What more could you ask for! Oh wait, they’re also packed with Vitamin C! Double whammy!
If you want these too look extra fancy, you can save the halved emptied out oranges and freeze them. When your sherbet is ready just scoop it out into the orange cups and sprinkle with orange or lemon zest.
PARENT HACK
Turn this healthy dessert into a kid treat! We love these monster pop molds. My son even gets to eat this in the morning before camp which makes both of us happy. I know he has a full belly of healthy fruit and good fats to keep him going in the morning.
If your kid isn’t into monsters, they also have other mold shapes such as penguins, dinosaurs, zombies, and more!
Of course these are great for kids since they are additive free and packed with vitamins thanks to the oranges and dates.
